                                                  I like Life

I like life.
I like the plethora of things going all around like there is no tomorrow,
I like the energy carried by people of all ages,
I like the serene atmosphere near a lake,
I like the emotions when a boy takes a girl out on a date for the first time,
I like the Indian tradition of marriages and the confusion all around on the D day,
I like the inquisitiveness & fascination of a young boy when he sees an aeroplane for the first time,
I like seasons, the day and the night,
Life is the best thing that ever happened to every human being,
I like life.

It's just another lonely night ...

It has been a long time since I wrote anything here. This poem had been long pending, which I finally completed yesterday :) (I'd almost forgotten about this one!)

I think the "night" is one of the best things He blessed the man with! You can find so much solace in times of need! The serenity that the night brings is priceless! One can be so lonely while a thousand other things can be going on at the same time.

This poem gives a perspective of a lonely person, who just happens to create a mental map of the diverse things happening in the same night, in which he finds himself lonely.

It's just another lonely night ...

It's just another lonely night,
The streets are dull, nobody in sight,
Lamp posts are dim, so is everyone's balcony light,
It's just another lonely night.

A lot of events happen, some good, bad ones too,
People wonder how darkness can hold so much together,
While shades of hope & strikes of jubiliation find their space,
Glimpses of despair & winds of sorrow also stay in the race.

A doctor fought death and saved a life,
A soldier got gunned down, a few minutes past midnight,
A woman gave birth to her first son,
A life saved, a life lost and a new life, it's still the same lonely night.

A mother read stories to her five year old,
Where angels fought demons and fairies took might,
Students burn midnight oil, some fell asleep, a few brave enough to fight,
Affection nurtures or future beckons, it's still the same lonely night.

A drunkard bashed his wife again,
A thief got hold of a golden chain,
Some stars fell, wishes were made with delight,
So many things happening, it's still the same night!

A man made love to his beautiful wife,
A mighty deal was struck, when two giants agreed to bury their strife,
A couple felt closer to each other, after their first prom,
Love or Business, all combined in the same night.

The night will end, dawn will soon take its place,
The sun will rise and provide the world with grace,
The day will pass quickly, darkness will take dusk's place,
It'll be night again, more events to happen, good or bad, all in the same lonely night!

Just Act and Be Happy

Hello, Again!

The next poem basically focusses on the Art of Understading the Importance of Acting on Time and followed by a tantamount art of being Happy.

This just tells you that one should try to act on time, not fret over matters. Past is gone, live in the present, future beckons. Act and try to remain happy. Understand that deeds will show some result at one time or the other.

So here it is ....

Just Act and Be Happy!

Dreams,passion,love,friendship,goals and aspirations,
Responsibilities along with a world of emotions,
Are just a handful of things, I thought I needed to care for,
Just then, the others came knocking ..and rocking ..and knocking with full devotion!

I took care of this, and that, and again what was left,
In just one go, thought of all possibilities, that could ever grow,
Still the big jolts came from shores undiscovered,
That left me wondering, which hole was left uncovered.

Dejected, I sat down, and started thinking,
What went wrong, possibly right, or probably wrong,
If this was destined to happen, which sign did I not infer,
For a moment,it seemed like studying a crazy russian song.

No brainwaves visited my house that day,
Neither did answers peeped through the windows that May,
Looking for an answer, I spent all day,
Still blank, was all I could say.

Suddenly, noticed a flower drying up that night,
Filled the vase with water, but no respite,
Everything seemed perfect, yet it dried,
What could possibly be the trick of the night!

The flower got everything, much of water, air and sunlight,
Neither the next morning's Sun, nor the fresh breeze could give it life, and it dried!
I needed to act, when I had to, not only that night,
I was understanding something, was the answer in my sight?

This is life, and just your life,
Act when you need to and when it seems right,
Face the things one-by-one, and one-on-one,
Getting too panicky or remaining calm, is just a matter of your and my choice,

Things come and Things go, you handle matters and your grey cells grow,
Nothing can be finished, before its turn ...
Don't fret thinking, the possibilities are infinite,
Just act on time, and that'll save you a future fight!

You'll see the light, when you must,
Whats important is to keep your trust,
Be happy, smile and get to work...
Only that can be said, I hope it is worth!

Those eyes ...

Hi,
As mentioned in the earlier posts, this is one first of the pending ones to be completed.
Here it goes ....

Those Eyes ...

Picking up grocery at a store one day,
Came across a face, full of charm and delight,
Long black hair, and a sweet smile,
Her eyes adorable, and full of life.

Gazing at the long lashes, and her vivid eyes,
Suddenly things around seemed so nice,
That intriguing pair had cast a spell,
Certainly, they could even sparkle the hell.

Star struck was I, in the middle of the store,
All the oceans couldn't match the depth in her eyes, for sure,
Wanted to go and complement her,
Her eyes deserved adoration, by men of past, present and the future.

Having said nothing, I stood in the billing line,
To my utter surprise, her grocery cart was adjacent to mine,
The cashier gained momentum as more people lined,
The queue moved quite fast, and time was running up.

Her turn came, and it was quickly done,
This was my chance to say something or forget the one,
People gathered around and I lost courage,
The cashier smiled as he billed for the sausage.

She looked at me while leaving the store,
I gazed at her as if nothing mattered more,
Those fading looks marked the end of my obsession,
O Lord!, Her eyes, her prized possession.

Thinking about the day, I'll cherish one moment forever,
When I could see me, reflecting in those eyes, crystal clear.

7th B'day of PaGalGuY.com

My hearty wishes to PG on completing its 7 marvellous years.

The B-Day is here, the B-Day is here,

Loads of wishes & thanks to all who care,
Let the journey begin once again today,
As I try to imagine, what must have happened on that one fine day.

A crazy guy, in Bombay, thinks to spread insanity,
Thinks the whole day, the next day and the next day too,
Comes up with an idea to create a forum,
Where people can talk but maintain decorum.

Naming the forum was the next big thing,
What seemed easy turned rather puzzling,
Insanity was a videshi charm,
Pagal sounded more like a desi thing.

The stage was set, the actor ready,
Pagal was the word, which meant completely crazy!
Guy was suffixed, which was more insane,
PagalGuy was born, in a narrow Bombay lane ...

7 years old but still so young,
PagalGuy has become the name of this generation,
Wishes to the crazy guy on achieving this feat,
Though you are old, we are here to make you feel young!

PS: 1) No offences to anyone.
2) I made up the story of how PG was born ..

Still Incomplete poems, whats a Limerick?

Yeah ... it has been quite some days now and i still haven't been able to look at my incomplete poems .. forget the part of finishing them. I'm not sure when will I be able to post them.

On another front, I was talking with a colleague and she asked the meaning of limericks. Now, yours truly, who sometimes writes poems, forgot whats a limerick. Come on mann .... you got to be better than this. Googled just now and here is what a limerick means.

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention, I wrote another poem (not too good, i guess) on PaGaLGuy (a must see for an MBA aspirant), ocassion being the 7th B'day of PG.com. Surprisingly 10 users showed courtesy and thanked me. Wow!! Good people :P

Let me share that poem in the next post.
